Just started on ABC’s The Catch. This is Shondaland‘s newer show, with only 10 episodes in the first season. I’m directing the 15th show ever, making this the earliest in a show’s life I’ve gotten to be a part of. So that’s pretty cool.
We also get to shoot at the historic Sunset Bronson Studios, formerly known as the Old Warner Bros Studio. Among the many cool things that have been done here, the coolest might be The Jazz Singer, the first “talkie” which was filmed right here.
Fast forward to now, and it’s currently being re-re-built so there are construction all around us as they build what will be the production offices and facilities for Netflix. So from the advent of sound to the transition to digital online movies and TV – that’s the evolution of this business in a nutshell I guess.
Updates to come as I continue on in prep!
