Swamptown

One final day of prep on NCIS: New Orleans. It’s been fun – scouting interesting locations outside of New Orleans including bayous with quicksand that nearly claimed a location scout and another with alligators and other interesting wildlife.

Final week of the calendar year, too, and this is the first time I’ve worked on a show where I start prep at the end of one year and start shooting in the beginning of the new one. The crew and cast are all in need of a break, so it’ll be good to get everyone fresh at the beginning of 2017.

This final day we have the production meeting, some final meetings, and then I head to Los Angeles for a couple weeks to finish the year. It’s been an incredible 2016, directing-wise. By the time the ball drops on this year, I’ll have directed six episodes of five shows and started prep on another to start 2017. Then it’s a crazy few months of directing television until April. Pretty awesome two years of TV directing.

Thank you, 2016, for a pretty great year of productivity. Hopefully more to come in 2017.
